Twisted Sister hit the stage like a whirlwind, in a blur of hair and makeup, and proceeded to indulge the very large crowd in a display of no holds barred Heavy Metal that rocked Bournemouth to the very edge of insanity. Quite simply they were awesome, performing with an energy and passion that reached out and forced you into a good old session of serious head banging. Dee Snider worked the crowd with such confidence and authority, you wondered if they thought they were the headline act, in fact its only the second time I have seen a support act return to the stage for an encore.

Twisted Sister
Twisted Sister have been around for over 30 years with probably their best era being the mid 80s with the arrival of the single “I am, I’m me”, this is their first UK tour for 20 years after record company problems, but they are back. This is the first time I have seen Twisted Sister and I hope they return soon to headline their own tour so that it’s not my last.

  • Ryan Roxie - Guitar
  • Damon Johnson - Guitar
  • Chuck Garric - Bass
  • Eric Singer - Drums

he king of showmen arrived in Bournemouth with a show that contained all the old favourites to anyone familiar with an Alice Cooper show, snakes, straitjackets, guillotine, sword, mad scientists, all were present and correct, and administered with the slick style that has made this show legendary. But this is not all show there are also some classic songs to be admired, the arrival of “Billion Dollar Babies” early in the show set the standard, and this was followed with a mix of old and new to keep the huge age-range of fans more than happy. Alice sounded great (and very, very, very, loud) with a young band to back him, and a huge set all that was needed was a raucous crowd, and a very full BIC were more than happy to supply that. The loudest cheer of the night was unsurprisingly reserved for the intro to “Schools Out”, with “Only women bleed” and “Poison” not far behind. My personal highlight was “Under my Wheels” which

was reserved for the encore, but with this show a thousand people would give a thousand different highlights, an Alice Cooper show simply contains so much to take in. If you have never seen Alice Cooper live, next time you get the chance, do it, and see the legend for yourselves.
