The sold out Hammersmith Apollo piled into the theatre and got ready to rock with Lemmy, Phil and Mikkey. For those on the balcony the, stay seated during the performance went out the window and people clambered onto anything possible to get a glimpse of the aging rockers, who will not lie down and die gracefully Lemmy wants to keep rocking until he drops dead. With the Apollo full of look a likes as the horns reached for the ceiling as Motorhead cruised there way through an hour and a half without slowing the pace. Tonight Motorhead proved they were still at the very top of their game and that they will never give up. With awesome drum solos, acoustic ballads and of course Ace Of Spades, it wont be long before you see Motorhead back on the road again.

The heavyweight beasts from Brazil were ready to tear up the Hammersmith Apollo and prove that they were a force to be reckoned with and even contenders for the headline slot. Derrick blasted his way through the set with a flying v with the front cover of their latest album ‘Roorback’ which was denied a full screening but opening with ‘Apes Of God’ and ‘Mindwar’ the main tracks from the new album but old classics like ‘Slave New World’, ‘Escape To The Void’ and of course finishing of with ‘Roots Bloody Roots’ which got the pits going crazy. Sepultura left the stage with the crowd asking for more and want them back soon.

Impressing so much when Motorhead were in the States they invited Class Of Zero to open up their UK tour for them and that’s just what they did, with style. Their no bullshit approach to pumping out hard rock got the Hammersmith Apollo jumping from early on. Leaving his glasses on Ryan was the epitome of a rock icon leading his band forward on an all out assault giving London just a taster of what to expect from their show in Camden Underworld on Tuesday but if you haven’t got tickets yet your too late as it sold out ages ago. Proving they are a force to be reckoned with they already sell out venues in America and now it’s the UK’s turn and they will soon become one of today’s elite heavy rock bands.

Imagine School Of Rock but called The Class. Made up of five thirteen year olds students from Christs Hospital who three weeks ago were unable to play their instruments which tonight they played with ease. In that course of time Gene Simmons, yes the Gene Simmons from Kiss has turned The Class around into a hard rocking five piece and were here tonight for a Channel Four documentary called ‘Rock School’. After only three weeks The Class showed charisma, talent and a huge amount of guts playing to a sold out, rowdy Hammersmith Apollo. Lets hope like Gene Simmons said that these guys and girls can become the next generation of British rock n roll.
