Its been a very busy year for Army Of Freshman and tonight sees the end of the UK leg of the Get Happy Tour and everyone including the band were ready and up for a party and the band did not fail to deliver. Coming onstage not long after doors you would expect the bar to be full but most were in the main arena jumping along with the band. Chris ran around the stage as if his life depended on it while Aaron, Kai, Owen and Dan kept the crowd captivated and enthralled with their massive explosion of sound and movement. Army Of Freshmen are a band who thrive to see the audience participate in their show and they did just that causing a sweaty throng over fans within their short thirty minute set.

Zebrahead

Zebrahead

Zebrahead are a band who need no introduction and they are a band that many here tonight want to see as much if not more than Bloodhound Gang and Bowling For Soup and the moment Zebrahead ploughed onto the stage the arms were raised and the crowd was ready for half an hour of pure unhinged pop punk which was to the delight of the sold out crowd. Playing tracks from their latest album ‘ Broadcast To The World’ Zebrahead had the crowd singing along and crowd surfing their way to the the front and upclose to the band. As the set came closer to the end Zebrahead gave that little extra and left the crowd remembering the name ‘Zebrahead’ and they will defenitly have a lot more friends in Plymouth after tonight’s show.

Bloodhound Gang

Bloodhound Gang

Bloodhound Gang were a band everyone was expecting to deliver the goods and when a screen at the back of the stage showed a video including Bam Margera to a massive roar from the crowd before bursting into ‘Fire Water Burn’ which saw the Pavilions singing along from the outset. With Bloodhound Gang known for being a party loving band they didn’t need an excuse but tonight being the last night of the tour they made extra sure that everyone was up for a party with Evil Jared drinking a glowstick.

As Bloodhound Gang moved forward through their set they encouraged people to go crazy as Evil Jared certainly stole the limelight downing a massive pint before throwing up over the stage then into Jimmy Pop’s hat which he thought nothing off slapping it straight back onto his head.

Leaving the stage for a cigarette break an advertisement for Lucky Strike cigarettes causing many to crave a cigarette but of course not being able to in the venue itself. Coming back to cheers louder than when they first hit the stage Bloodhound Gang gave their all with the crowd lapping it up. Of course the set wouldn’t be complete with out ‘The Bad Touch’ which saw a mass reanacment of ‘doing it like mammals’. Bloodhound Gang tonight pleased their fans but maybe went just that too far with their onstage antics.

Bowling For Soup

Bowling For Soup are a band that Rockbeast has seen many times before since 2002 in venues and at festivals but tonight at the Sold Out Plymouth Pavilions was the biggest headline show we have seem them play and as the lights dimmed it seemed they had already won over the crowd before bursting into ‘My Hometown’. From then on Bowling For Soup couldn’t put a foot wrong and the Pavilions loved it singing along to every song including ‘Emily’, ‘I’m Gay’, ‘Bitch Song’ and upcoming single ‘When We Die’ which saw lighters raised in the air.

Bowling For Soup

Bowling For Soup will never be as crude as Bloodhound Gang but that is part of their charm making adults and children laugh in unison which so many bands are unable to do. Introducing his new dance to the delight of the audience chanting Chris’ name throughout. Bowling For Soup let the music do the speaking though and it was loud and clear from the sheer delight of all tonight. Finishing with a cover of Jonny Cash’s classic ‘Ring Of Fire’ Bowling For Soup conquered Plymouth on their first visit and by the looks of the audience they are hoping it wont be their last.
