The Crimea
For most this is their first time seeing The Crimea and probably the first time they had even heard them but not for long. With their debut album just released The Crimea are being tipped to become one of the bands of 2006. As the sun shone down on The Crimea and the crowd Beautiful Days 2006 is officially now in full swing.
Cara Dillon
Cara Dillon
If those who had just witnessed Drunk In Public’s set in the Big Top Stage were now pumped up ready for more loud music they have come to the wrong stage as Cara Dillon offers a laid back acoustic sound. You could be mistaken to think that the sound coming from the massive speakers flanking either side of the stage were coming from a CD player not the band onstage it was that perfect. With the sun setting over Beautiful Days Cara Dillon came onstage at a perfect time.
Gomez
Gomez
With the night sky now upon us the lighting for Gomez’s set added so much to the evening with the purple and green light which complimented their softer sound perfectly. With the biggest crowd of the night the crowd Gomez played on this inviting the crowd to jump along, dance and sing along. With their fifth studio album out now and the band also celebrating ten years together as a band Beautiful Days was a perfect festival to gain even more fans.
With Gomez only the main support to Echo And The Bunnymen you would be forgiven to think that Gomez were the headliners tonight. As the bands set came to a close the crowd were pumped up and ready to take on the task of dancing the night away with Echo And The Bunnymen.
Echo And The Bunnymen
Echo And The Bunnymen
Closing the first day of the main stage were legendary Echo And The Bunnymen having reformed back in 1997 Echo And The Bunnymen are growing back to the status they once had in the early eighties. With the sun now firmly set the lighting was used to full effect to give the crowd a night to remember.
With the night in full flow Echo And The Bunnymen couldn’t put a foot wrong although many had already wondered over to catch Hayseed Dixie on the second stage. For those who missed Echo And The Bunnymen’s set tonight you may have just missed the rise back to the top for this band.
Gomez British quintet drawing on thier disparate tastes, which ranged from Nirvana to Woody Guthrie
